Beautiful More Modern Music

Post by Kitty »

The Little Mermaid has always been my favorite Disney movie. I saw this video and knew it had to be shared.
This little girl is only 3 years old, yet she has the courage to sing beautifully in front of lots of people. This clip is from a show I've never heard of, Little Big Shots, but it's a talent show for kids. It seems like a good one! Well without further ado, here it is. Try not to love her!

You trying to tell me you didn't hear that shriek? That was something trying to get out of its premature grave, and I don't want to be here when it does. - Phantom of the Paradise (1974)

This is so amazing! Love love love this song this woman wrote. She is deaf, but can sing her own folk song so beautifully. Mandy Harvey - Try.

I discovered George Papavgeris by listening to the Irish and Celtic Music Podcast, although he is not Irish or Celtic for that matter! He's from Greece, and he plays folk music. I like to listen to him when I want something simple and beautiful. I listened to this touching song this morning, called Recessional.

That's a really haunting and poignant song, isn't it?

This is an amazing version of Jessica by the Allman Brothers band.
This is done by Brian Smalley. Hes from Florida. I think this version is better than the original! Heresy to say, I know.

And this one is hilarious.

Wow. That's some seriously good guitar playing. Jessica...I had forgotten all about that song. I went back and listened to the original, and I agree, I think Brian's version tops it.

This sounds like some band I used to listen to from the 70's, but I can't place who it is—the style of the vocals, especially. Maybe Led Zeppelin?

I don't think it's Led Zeppelin you're thinking of.... Their vocals were very whiny.
I was listening to them today and thought maybe you're talking about Aerosmith. The vocals sound like Steve Tyler.
