I looked it up, and the winner of the President's Cup Regatta in 1939 was Canada III. If you follow this link and scroll down you can see photos of the boat and part of this article is about the 1939 race.

That's interesting—good researching! Man, what a motor that thing had in it. No wonder it could move along. I like the President Roosevelt story. :)

The first program after Sundial is Certified Magic Carpet, hosted by none other than Charles Daly, aka John Charles Daly from What's My Line! Later in the day's broadcast is Big Sister with Martin Gabel.

Gosh, I think I listened to the Certified Magic Carpet, but didn't realize that was Daly. I'm not sure I've listened to the Big Sister part yet. I always liked to hear Martin Gabel's resonant voice on WML. He sounded so urbane.
