Re: Favorite photos of silent stars

I tried hunting a title with Royal Crowns and England. That didn't work either. I did find about ten million nice photos of Queen Elizabeth, though. :D

I notice she's wearing a locket with someone's portrait in it :)
Maybe it's the same portrait she's posing in! It's an infinity of her own picture!!
You mean kinda like this? :)

Have you ever noticed the boats? The people on the boats? Mt. Fuji in the background? I never noticed any of that until I watched a little show called Dive Into Ukiyo-e.
I've seen that a million times and never noticed any of that! :o :)

Re: 1920/2020 Forum Watch-Fest

That was the severely bunned Mrs. Hamilton who made that remark!   Actually, I kind of thought she looked pretty with that severe bun. Yes, it's not unattractive (though still severe :)) , but I still think she looks prettier with it down, if only she weren't badmouthing our boy at ...

Love it! I love studying the tiny people like that, and looking into the distance.
I vaguely remember some discussion about a possible symbolic meaning vis-à-vis the similarity between the distant people and the birds. I don't know what the lesson would be offhand, though...

Is there a whole genre of ice skating paintings?
Could be! But that reminds me of what is probably one of my top two or three favorite paintings of all time. Bruegel's Hunters in the Snow. I like to look at this one best during winter, but can't resist posting it now. :D

I wonder what book she's reading.
"...OYAL CH(?)...
(?)EN..."
Can't make it out. The first word is probably loyal or royal, and the third letter after the en could be a g. England?

Re: 1920/2020 Forum Watch-Fest

She also remembered him from the time he took the puppy's food bowl to give to Simp, so she probably thought, "Ugh, that thieving little street urchin." So, an extra layer of judgmental. Oh, yeah. Forgot about that. Okay, how about severely loose-haired? :D That's a thing? :D Maybe her brain is sti...

Re: 1920/2020 Forum Watch-Fest

I always focus on the weird background details. Speaking of the title cards, at one point someone said about Ed "He looks like a bad boy." um, how does one look like a bad person just by a glimpse? Talk about judging a book by its cover!! You beat me to it, Steppie. Yes, that was when the pol...
