I know you have to be a "certain age" to have even heard of Bill Saluga and his one-joke character Raymond J. Johnson Jr., but for a while in the Seventies he seemed as inescapable as Howard Cosell. Passed away recently at the age of 85.

Truly one of the great songwriters of his era. Around 1989 I read an article where the author figured there were only 5 living musicians who could give a two-hour concert consisting of nothing but hit songs written by them... Burt Bacharach, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, and Brian Wilson...

I think that leaves only "Lone Wolf" Michael McKean from the main cast.
