I had to go back to the book to refresh my memory: Idk about the funniest part, more weird , but the part where they were putting together their concoction so they...

Re: Minnie Hermon; or The Curse of Rum (1878)
I read another chapter of this book. It describes the first meeting of Walter Brayton and Minnie Hermon in unbelievable circumstances. I'll be posting more in depth soon. For now, here is an actual photo of Walter and Minnie.

Re: Vintage Photos at Random
Fascinating. Thanks for sharing! I wonder what this photo was taken for. At a time and place when cameras weren't readily available, or perhaps never seen before, this company toured certain areas and took pictures. Sometimes they were pictures of factory and mill workers. There is actually a websi...

Re: Book Reading
I think I may be interested in reading The Daughter of Fife soon. The book is soooooo good, but word of warning: you'll have to get used to the vernacular, as much of the dialogue is written in Scottish dialect/accent. It is a beautiful story, though, full of strong characters and so worth the read...

Re: Dark Shadows
476 The doctor keeps saying there's a large chance of success, but what are his claims based on? He has never done this before, and he doesn't mention animal experiments. At first I was rooting for this guy, but I hope he dies soon. 💀 477 That is quite the dress that Barnabas is wearing when Mr. Pet...

Re: Book Reading
So I guess you’re saving the rest of Minnie to savor? :) :) I have to remember to go back to that and post a bit about it. Here are the three you mentioned you didn't remember. https://blog.silentphotoplay.com/2021/01/15/a-daughter-of-fife/ https://blog.silentphotoplay.com/2021/01/15/just-patty/ ht...

The 60th, you're coming along! Off the top of your head, what was your favorite of them? Maybe Minnie Herman; or The Curse of Rum ?? :P Ha! I haven't finished that one yet. There have been a few that stick out in my mind: Just Patty, Dawn O'Hara, and The Scarlet Coat to name a few. I also really lo...
