This is ultra cool! I just discovered this serial starring none other than Harry Houdini. :) It is in 15 parts, though partial footage from a few of the parts has been lost. Yes, it is rather confusing. That is a scene from the twist ending where Francis is revealed to be in fact insane and "Caligari" the benevolent director of the asylum in which Francis and Jane are patients.
