Re: What's My Line

:-) That's pretty neat. Hard to hear Calypso music without it putting a smile on your face. :D

Re: Stopette

That is an odd one. I wonder if those singers are thinking "And all those hundreds of hours in voice lessons for this..." :D Stopette was a big sponsor of WML. Kind of strange that that product disappeared completely—it must have been a fairly big company at the time to have the money to sponsor a n...

Re: The Name's the Same

I'll definitely have to watch an episode of that. I wonder if they brought back that old type of ad done by the host, if it would be effective today. It probably would! We are so used to pre-recorded annoying commercials, we've just learned to tune them out (well, at least we try). Some of the older...

Re: Shampoo plus Egg

I would agree Florence Henderson's hairdo wasn't that attractive. The early 60's hairstyles (at least some of them) were kind of nice. I guess some of the 50s ones were ok. It's that kind of Mamie Eisenhower type of style that was so common that I don't think is that attractive (not that I mean to d...

Re: The Beatles

No, I'd not heard of that one before. It is an intriguing sounding song. I couldn't quite understand the words, though. I'll have to listen to it again when I'm not crunching a carrot. :)

Re: Quote of the Day

That's very thought-provoking. We do have that artificial and harmful distinction between science and the arts. It applies to religious belief, too. So many times, Christians dismiss science and scientists dismiss Christianity, as if the two were mutually exclusive. :? Everyone sees what you appear ...
