Re: Featuring Celebrities

These are really interesting to watch. Spanky: Boy, I’ll bet that set up some industrial-strength hounding of parents! Roy: Well, that was the heyday of the Westerns. Still seems kind of odd - guns + Nestle Quik. Godfrey: Yes, I love that one. I have it in my iTunes library and have watched i...

Re: Literature That Glorifies the Photoplay

:o Dang... Well, I think she's in love. She was actually a pretty good poet, but to pile that much adoration in verse on a celebrity—it seems kind of odd. Yes, I wonder what he thought, if he ever read it. :?:

Re: Beautiful Ads

That's strange, isn't it? Maybe the Postal Service acted as a contact for AT&T? If so, can't imagine why.

Re: Beautiful Ads

Two interesting early Coke ads. The expressions on their faces are kind of strange, aren't they? Also, interesting that Coke swiped Maxwell House's slogan—or was it the other way round? :)

Re: Claudia

I'd think that episode would be kind of scary for listeners! I think having her hallucinate was a weird choice. It was definitely different from the normal birth episode. Overall, it's not my favorite episode. 😂 Yes, it took what should have been a joyous moment and kind of turned it into a creepy ...

Re: Claudia

Finally made it through No. 200—No. 201, to be exact, the birth episode, which I thought was definitely strange. Although the ending was very touching, I didn't really think the idea of having her hallucinate while under anesthesia worked very well—especially the ending where she was screaming out t...

Re: Favorite photos of silent stars

The comic actor Douglas MacLean visits Harold Lloyd on the set of Lloyd's comedy short "High and Dizzy." I'm think I'm getting high and dizzy just looking at this. :) By the way, Ben Model has a new Kickstarter going to make a dvd of some of the mostly forgotten MacLeans' extant features. That's whe...
